Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 lb pecan halves ( pretty ones)

Directions:

  1. Bring all ingredients to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 15 minute.
  3. Drain.
  4. Spread out on your counter on cookie sheets or cooling racks and let cool for 1 hour.
  5. Transfer to cookie sheets and bake in a single layer at 300F for 45 min, stirring occasionally.
  6. Watching carefully towards the end to make sure they don't burn.
