Cream Cheese Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/16 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Cream together butter, shortening & cream cheese.
  2. Add sugar, salt, vanilla and egg yolk, mix well.
  3. Gradually blend in flour and mix well.
  4. Use 1 teaspoonful of dough and make into a rounded ball then place on greased cookie sheet (or use parchment paper - works a lot better!).
  5. Bake for about 15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  6. Remove from oven.
  7. Grease the bottom of a glass with butter and then dip into sugar - use this to flatten out cookies while they are still hot and leave sugar coating on top.
