Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1- 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • for filling
  • 3 cups powdered sugar 1/4 tsp mint extract
  • 4 drops of green food colcoring
  • 3 to 4 tbsp of cream
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. CREAM TOGETHER BUTTER, SHORTENING AND SUGAR UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY.
  2. BEAT IN EGG.
  3. STIR IN DRY INGREDIENTS ALTERNATELY WITH MILK.
  4. FORM IN 4 ROLLS, 1 INCH DIAMETER.
  5. CHILL UNTIL FIRM ENOUGH TO SLICE EASILY.
  6. CUT INTO 1/8 INCH SLICES.
  7. BAKE AT 350 DEGREES F. ABOUT 10 MINUTES.
  8. PUT COOKIES TOGETHER WITH MINT FILLING
