Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup brown sugar , packed
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water

Directions:

  1. In medium mixing bowl sift flour
  2. Mix in the baking powder as well as the salt and sugar and 1 tablespoons cocoa.
  3. Sift again.
  4. Add the milk and the butter and vanilla.
  5. Mix until smooth.
  6. Turn into greased casserole dish.
  7. In small mixing bowl combine the brown sugar and cocoa.
  8. Sprinkle this mixture over batter in pan.
  9. Pour the boiling water over top of mix.
  10. Bake in 350 oven for 30-40 minutes.
  11. Serve warm by itself or with milk or cream or ice cream. Also good served cold.
