Cinnamon Walnut Scones

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 4 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup cold butter or 1/4 cup margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients, cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Combine eggs and cream, stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
  3. Turn onto a floured surface, gently pat into a 7-inch circle, 3/4 inch thick.
  4. Cut tino 8 wedges.
  5. Separate wedges, place on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Brush top with buttermilk and let rest 15 minutes.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees for 14-16 minutes, or until golden brown.
