Cinnamon Sugar Pinwheel Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 (3 oz) package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

Directions:

  1. Allow cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter to soften, then blend together.
  2. Stir in egg yolk and flour, mix well.
  3. Cover bowl and chill 30 minutes.
  4. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  5. Divide dough in half and roll very thin.
  6. Brush with 2 Tbsp melted butter.
  7. Combine cinnamon, sugar and nuts, sprinkle half this mixture over dough.
  8. Roll up like a jelly roll.
  9. Cut roll in 1/2 inch slices and place cut side down on ungreased baking sheet.
  10. Repeat other half.
  11. Bake 15 minutes or till golden brown.
  12. Cool on wire rack, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
