Ingredients:

  • for the crust
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • for the filling
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • orange liquer mentioned on the today show video but not in the actual today show recipe instructions
  • for the topping
  • 2 tablespooons butter

Directions:

  1. DIRECTIONS
  2. For the crust: Mix all dry ingredients together, then cut butter into flour and press into pan. ( springform )
  3. Bake in an oven heated to 350 degrees for 10 minutes until crust lightly rises.
  4. For the filling: ( please note that she mentions orange liquer for the mousse like filling )
  5. Place heavy cream in a saucepan and heat slightly.
  6. Add chocolate to pan and stir until melted.
  7. Turn off heat once mixtture has thickened and put into crust.
  8. Please note; she mentions whipped but these instructions don't indicate it!!!
  9. Refrigerate.
  10. For the topping:
  11. Place heavy cream in a saucepan and heat slightly.
  12. Add chocolate and stir until blended.
  13. Add butter and stir.
  14. Pour mixture over filling and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
