Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar , firmly packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Sift together and set aside flour, soda, salt and baking powder.
  2. Blend together shortening and sugars.
  3. Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Add flour mixture and mix well.
  5. Add oats, vanilla and chocolate chips mix well.
  6. Spread mixture into a greased 9x13 metal pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 17 minutes.
  8. These cookies should be very light in color when baked, be careful not to over-bake.
  9. Cool and cut into brownie size squares.
