Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix baking soda, salt and flour together. Set aside.
  2. Cream together sugar and butter.
  3. Beat in egg, vanilla and food coloring if using.
  4. Stir in maraschino cherries (including juice), coconut, nuts, and dates.
  5. Add dry ingredients.
  6. Drop onto greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
  8. Enjoy.
  9. Note: Depending on how much juice is in the cherries you may need to add additional flour otherwise the cookies will flatten way out when baked.
