Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup biscuit mix
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2-1 tsp orange zest
  • 2 tbsp 2% low-fat milk
  • 1/4 cup orange juice

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the biscuit mix, sugar and orange peel.
  2. Stir in milk just until moistened; set aside.
  3. In a small nonstick skillet, combine pie filling and orange juice; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Drop biscuit mixture in two mounds onto boiling cherry mixture.
  5. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Uncover; simmer 5-7 minutes longer or until a toothpick inserted into a dumpling comes out clean.
  7. Also tastes wonderful with apple or blueberry pie filling instead of cherry.
