Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix the filling ingredients in a medium sized bowl.
  2. Put the egg white in a small bowl to stick the edge of the borek and leave aside.
  3. Place the three sheets of pastry on top of each other on the counter with the long side front of you.
  4. Cut in 4 equal strips from top to bottom
  5. Do the same to the other 3 sheets
  6. Now you should have 24 long pieces of phyllo pastry.
  7. Put one teaspoonful filling on the bottom end of each sheet.
  8. First fold it diagonally to form a triangle.
  9. Continue to fold borek up to the top.
  10. Brush the egg white on the open end of the last fold and close it up.
  11. Finish all the sheets.
  12. Heat up the sunflower oil on the stove in a frying pan.
  13. Fry each borek equally over medium heat until they take a light golden colour.
  14. Don't turn your back, they fry quickly and may burn:{
  15. Drain on kitchen towel
  16. Serve Borek while they are still warm as an appetizer or with Turkish Tea as a snack.
  17. Phyllo Pastry may dry while you're folding them - cover with a clean towel while you fold the rest.
