Ingredients:

  • 5 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp yeast
  • 2 cups water
  • 0.66 cups dry milk
  • 1/4 cups crisco
  • 0.33 cups sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs

Directions:

  1. Place yeast in 115 degree water let stand five minutes.
  2. Combine dry ingredients mix and set aside.
  3. After the five minutes, add the Crisco and eggs to the yeast and about half of the flour mixture into the yeast and stir with wooden spoon until thuroughly mixed then begin to add flour until the dough becomes slightly sticky but formable. You will know when it is right when you can touch the dough with a finger and it feels tacky.
  4. Place in a lightly oiled bowl and let raise until double in size.
  5. Punch down and knead for 2 minutes.
  6. Separate out by halves until you get 48 equal sized balls of dough place on a lightly oiled cookie sheet about 2 inches appart. Let them rise for about 50 minutes and bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
  7. Serve hot!
  8. Total time should be around 3 hours.
