Butter Pecan Turtle Bars

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In bowl combine crust ingredients
  2. Mix at medium speed, scraping sides of bowl often, beating for about 2-3 minutes or until well mixed and particles are fine
  3. Pat firmly into an ungreased 9 X 13 inch pan
  4. Sprinkle pecans over unbaked crust
  5. PREPARE CARAMEL LAYER
  6. In a heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar and butter
  7. Cook over medium heat , stirring constantly until entire surface of mixture begins to boil
  8. Boil for 1/2 to 1 minute, stirring constantly
  9. Pour evenly over pecans and crust
  10. Bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes or until entire caramel layer is bubbly and crust is light golden brown
  11. Remove from oven, immediately sprinkle with chips
  12. Allow chips to melt slightly, about 2-3 minutes
  13. Slightly swirl chips as they melt, leaving some whole for a marbled effect
  14. DO NOT SPREAD CHIPS
  15. Cool completely, cut into 3-4 dozen bars
