Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 (10 oz) packages frozen strawberries, thawed
  • whipped topping (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut shortening into flour mixture until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
  4. Blend in milk; mix well.
  5. Spread dough in a 9X9inch baking pan.
  6. Bake 15 minutes.
  7. Serve warm or let cool; top with strawberries before serving.
  8. Garnish with whipped cream.
