Ingredients:

  • crust
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teasp. vanilla
  • filling
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 ( 8-oz ) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teasp. vanilla
  • topping
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teasp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 teasp, nutmeg
  • dash cardamon
  • whipped cream

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 375' F
  2. In small mixer bowl... combine all the crust ingredients
  3. Beat on medium speed until the dough leaves the sides of the bowl
  4. Press on bottom of 10-inch spring form pan
  5. In same small mixer bine all the filling ingredients
  6. Beat at medium speed until smooth ... about 2 -3 minutes
  7. Spread over crust
  8. In large bowl... toss together the apples, 1/3 cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom
  9. Arrange the apples over the filling
  10. Bake at 375' for 35 to 45 minutes or until the apples are fork tender.
  11. Sprinkle with the almonds
  12. Continue to bake for 5 to 10 minutes
  13. Cool completely on wire rack
  14. When cool remove rim from the springform pan
  15. Cut into wedges and serve with whipped cream
