Basic Waffle Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 cups skim milk
  • 2 egg whites , beaten until peaks are stiff

Directions:

  1. Preheat waffle maker.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix the beaten egg yolks, skim milk, and melted butter.
  4. Form a hole in the middle of the dry mixture.
  5. Pour in the wet mixture.
  6. Mix just until the batter is slightly lumpy.
  7. Fold in the stiffened egg whites.
  8. Pour 2/3 cup mixture into waffle maker.
  9. Follow directions for waffle maker.
  10. Remove with a fork.
