Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 tbsp hot water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp clove
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup packed candied cherry (cut up )

Directions:

  1. Dissolve the baking soda in the hot water; set aside.
  2. Mix sugar, eggs, bananas, butter, and baking soda solution together.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add the flour, salt, and spices; mix well.
  5. Add nuts, raisins, and cherries.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Pour into a greased tube pan.
  8. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour or till done.
  9. Let cool 15 minutes in pan and then take out to cool on rack.
