Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 -3 tbsp nonfat milk
  • nonstick cooking spray

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl,beat the sugar,applesauce,and oil until well blended. In a small bowl, combine the flour,baking powder,cinnamon,salt,baking soda,nutmeg,and cloves;gradually beat into sugar mixture until blended. Stir in raisins.
  2. Transfer to a 13x9 inch baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  3. In a small mixing bowl,beat the confectioner's sugar, butter, vanilla, and enough milk to achieve a glaze consistency. Spread over warm bars. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
