Ingredients:

  • 300 g flour (2 cups)
  • 100 g ground almonds (1 cup)
  • 70 g sugar (1/3 cup)
  • 9 g oetker vanilla sugar (1 package)
  • 250 g cold butter (1 1/4 cups)
  • 150 g sifted icing sugar (1 cup)
  • 9 g oetker vanilla sugar (1 package)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Grease a cookie sheet.
  3. Blend flour, almonds, sugar and vanilla sugar together on a pastry board.
  4. Cut the cold butter into small pieces over the dry ingredients.
  5. Quickly work all the ingredients together into a smooth dough.
  6. Shape the dough into pencil sized rolls.
  7. Cut the rolled dough into 2 inch pieces.
  8. Place the dough on the prepared cookie sheet and bend into crescent shapes.
  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cookies are light golden.
  10. Roll the warm cookies into a mixture of icing sugar and vanilla sugar.
