Ingredients:

  • 2 cups ale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp saffron
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup currants

Directions:

  1. Bring almonds, ale and water to boil in a large pot. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 10 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
