Whole Wheat Chocolate Cake With Cocoa Frosting

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Stir together sugar, flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda and salt.
  2. Combine butter, water and cocoa in saucepan.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil stirring constantly then remove from heat and pour into flour mixture.
  4. Mix well using wooden spoon then blend in eggs and sour cream mixing well.
  5. Pour batter into greased rectangular baking pan and bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
  6. Cool in pan on rack while you prepare frosting.
  7. Pierce several holes in cake with fork while still warm.
  8. Combine butter, milk and cocoa then cook over medium heat until butter is melted.
  9. Stir in powdered sugar that has been sifted twice then continue to cook until sugar dissolves.
  10. Remove from heat then stir in vanilla and frost cake immediately.
