Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. lemon extract
  • 2 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:

  1. Cream butter, shortening, and sugars until fluffy.
  2. Beat in egg and lemon extract.
  3. Sift dry ingredients and add to butter mixture.
  4. Shape into 1 inch balls and flatten with glass dipped in sugar.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until very lightly browned on edges.
