Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups shortening
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/8 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/8 tsp salt
  • 4 1/2 cups old fashion oats
  • 1 (12 oz) bag chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla together in large bowl.
  2. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together.
  3. Add to creamed ingredients.
  4. Then add in oats, chocolate chips, and nuts.
  5. Dip out by ice cream scoop and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 mins.
