  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Pour tomatoes into a 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
  3. Mix in the torn pieces of bread and season with salt and fresh ground pepper.
  4. Dot with pieces of butter.
  5. Bake 35- 40 minutes.
