Sylvia's Lazy Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz) can tomato soup
  • 5 3/8 oz cans water
  • 1 (10 oz) can mushrooms , with juice
  • 1 (14 oz) can sauerkraut
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 1/4 tsp caraway seed (optional)

Directions:

  1. Brown beef in skillet until meat is cooked.
  2. Drain excess grease.
  3. Mix together with onion, mushrooms, rice and caraway seeds.
  4. Put meat into large casserole and top with the sauerkraut and soup mixture.
  5. Bake about 3/4 hour at 350 degrees.
  6. Mixture should be quite runny to start as it will thicken in oven.
  7. This can be varied to suit your taste with more or less sauerkraut.
