Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Melt butter in dutch oven over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. Add canned beans and mix well. Add remaining ingredients, stir well, and cook over medium heat until sugars are dissolved and everything is combined.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 1 hour or until beans reach desired thickness. Stir occasionally, making sure beans don't scorch in bottom of pot.
  4. For a terrific twist, you can add 1 lb. cooked ground turkey or ground beef, seasoned well with salt, pepper, granulated garlic, and granulated garlic.
