Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Combine flour, baking powder and salt;
  2. Beat butter with sugar until fluffy; beat in eggs, one at a time and add extracts;
  3. Add in flour mixture and beat well;
  4. Stir in cherries and nuts;
  5. Shape dough into 2 logs and place on baking sheets lined with parchment paper;
  6. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes or until edges start to brown;
  7. Remove from oven and reduce heat to 250 degrees;
  8. Allow logs to cool slightly;
  9. Using a serrated or bread knife, cut logs into 1/2 inch thick, diagonal slices;
  10. Transfer slices to baking sheets;
  11. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until edges are golden and cookies are almost completely dry;
  12. Cool on rack.
  13. While cooling, melt chocolate in microwave;
  14. Dip half of each cookie into melted chocolate; set on wax paper to dry;
  15. Store in an airtight container.
