Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar , packed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • sometimes i add raisins and/or pecans

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325
  2. In mixing bowl, add corn syrup, brown sugar and egg, mix well
  3. In another mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients
  4. Add to egg mixture alternately with milk and mix well
  5. Pour into greased 9in.x5in. loaf pan
  6. Bake 75-80 or until toothpick inserted at center of loaf comes out clean
  7. Cool for 10 minutes then remove from pan and cool completely
