Southern Homestyle Sausage Gravy

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 lb favorite breakfast sausage (about 3 slices)
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp salt (as much as you like)
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp bacon grease or 1 tsp vegetable oil

Directions:

  1. Fry sausage until golden brown.
  2. Add bacon grease, then flour to the grease and cooked sausage.
  3. Stir until blended.
  4. Cook until raw flavor of the flour cooks out (about 2 or 3 minutes, not too brown though).
  5. Now add your milk.
  6. Stir constantly until desired thickness.
  7. Serve over your favorite biscuits.
  8. Enjoy!
