Southern Fried Squash Patties

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 6 tbsp flour
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tbsp butter and 2 tbsp of oil

Directions:

  1. Combine the grated squash and onion and mix well.
  2. Add sugar, salt, pepper, blending completely.
  3. Allow this mixture to sit for 30 minutes, then drain it well.
  4. Add the flour and egg and stir well.
  5. Melt the butter in a frying pan.
  6. Drop the squash mixture by spoonfuls into the butter/oil, press into a patty and fry until golden brown on both sides.
