leek, white and part of the green sliced thinly and12 Moreleek, white and part of the green sliced thinly, garlic, diced, butter, butter for ing the baking dish, french bread, cubed into 1 cubes (depending on the size of your loaf, you may or may not need the entire loaf - you need enough to cover the bottom on the baking dish, and a layer on the top), cubed smoked ham (i prefer the saltiness of smoked ham over the sweet taste of honey or brown sugar ham - if you don tsp have leftover ham to use, just ask the deli person to slice a 1 thick piece of smoked ham for you), grated gruyere cheese (swiss cheese will do, but gruyere is worth the splurge!), half-and-half or whole milk, eggs, salt, garlic salt, pepper, al: a very light drizzle of hollandaise sauce over each slice is a nice addition, too. if you put the sauce in a separate gravy server , your guests can have the choice of adding it or noti m a big fan of hollandaise, so of course i never pass it up13 ingredients

Adapted Whole Grain Bushmans Breaddirections here are for mixing the dough in a bread machi... and20 Moredirections here are for mixing the dough in a bread machine, but baking it in your oven. if you need different directions, just message me and i will send them to you. (am using my bread machine as kitchenaide is out of commission right now)., way i added more nutrition & flavor to this loaf was by soaking my grains overnight, then adding them to machine (original recipe does not call for added grains). using a 1 cup measuring cup, i filled it 3/4 of the way full with a mixture of brown rice flour, quinoa and barley flakes (looks like oatmeal)-i dumped that into a dish and added 1/2 cup of warm water, stirred it around, and let it sit (covered) overnight so that the grains could absorb the water. i ve been reading a lot about grain (and whole grain flour soaking) and so far, this seems to have served me well. you can use any combination of whole grains-this is just what i used. next day when i was ready to make bread, i did this, i set my machine on the dough (or manual) cycle and layered these ingredients in the bread machine in the following serving, warm water, molasses, sugar, kosher salt, lemon juice (bottled ok-it helps the yeast and helps crumb be less tender), oil, whole grain mix i created, rye flour, vital wheat gluten (flour), bread flour (i usually use just a speck over 2 & 1/2 cups), active dry yeast (yes, 6 tsp), also need, egg wash to brush on top (1 egg, beaten well with a pinch of salt and a tsp of water) & oat bran to sprinkle on top & make it pretty., once the ingredients are in , press start and let your machine run thru the dough cycle., once that s complete , remove dough divide it in half, shape it freeform (i just make a round loaf), place shaped loaves on parchment lined baking sheet. cover dough with plastic wrap and let it rise until almost double in size (about an hour in my kitchen). when dough nears the end of it s rising time, preheat the oven to 375o (i bake it at 365o, but i m a bit neurotic about bread)., once oven is heated , brush loaves with egg wash, dust them with oat bran, score/slash them about 1/4 deep and load them into oven., bake 375o for about 30-35 minutes until loaf sounds hollow when bottom is tapped (or for 38-40 minutes at 365o)., cool on wire rack .40 min, 21 ingredients

Cioppinoi fell in love with this recipe. i love anything tomato b... and18 Morei fell in love with this recipe. i love anything tomato based. this is like tomato sauce and chunks of all your favorite fish. you add whatever fish you like. and get a huge loaf of crusty bread and butter! i basically modify this recipe to my own sauce, so can you add what fish you like. just a great great recipe! you can make this your own! everyone thinks this is italian it is not. chip in . chip in as a call heard on the world famous fisherman s wharf in it s early heyday before world war ii. this was a call for san francisco s mainly italian immigrant fisherman coming home with their catch of pacific seafood to donate a small portion of their catch for a communal fish stew prepared on the docks. anything would do. a few clams, mussels. adding some red snapper, a crab or two, some scallops some halibut or flounder, anything to add to the fragrant stew that would soon be served to the club of san francisco fisherman who would talk about the days catch and dunk san francisco sour dough bread into the rich broth. eventually the broken english cries of chip in turned into chip-in-o . hence the name cioppino . this is a rich seafood stew with not much care as to how it was assembled. this consisted of throwing the days catch into a big pot and pouring sauce into the pot with the shellfish and chunks of what fish was available. let all these flavors enhance each other for awhile and you have the most flavorful and messy to eat stew that ever was., turns around the pan in a slow stream ) extra-virgin olive oil, crushed red pepper flakes, flat fillets of anchovies, drained, garlic, crushed, bay leaf, fresh or dried, celery ribs, chopped, onion, chopped, good quality dry white wine ( i am sure even beer works), chicken stock, chunky style crushed tomatoes, fresh thyme, leaves removed (about 1 tbsp), handful flat-leaf parsley, chopped, cod, cut into 2-inch chunks, salt and pepper, shrimp , ask for deveined easy-peel or peel and devein, sea scallops, raw mussels , scrubbed, a loaf of fresh , crusty bread, for mopping up!! or 2 loaves depending on quanity and people eating this.15 min, 19 ingredients
