Sautéed Morel Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1/4 tsp hot sauce
  • 1 italian flat bread (5 by 5 inch)
  • 1/4-1/2 red onion
  • 4 large morels
  • 1 -2 tbsp olive oil

Directions:

  1. Heat up the pan.
  2. Add olive oil.
  3. Add basil, salt and hot sauce.
  4. Slice morels in half, slice onion into rings and add those.
  5. Sauté until onions are caramelized.
  6. Cut bread in half to form a top and bottom.
  7. Sandwich the ingredients between the slices of bread.
  8. Bake in toaster oven for 5 minutes on high, or until bread turns golden.
