Rye Bread Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of cubed stale rye bread
  • 6 cups water or 6 cups soup stock
  • 1/2 tsp caraway seed
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Directions:

  1. Simmer bread in water or soup stock.
  2. For 20 0r 30 minutes,.
  3. Or until it is soft enough to put through a blender.
  4. Add salt,butter,and caraway seed.
  5. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Blend in sour cream and egg yolk.
  7. Simmer 2 minutes.
  8. Add smoke ham or frankfurters if you want.
  9. Enjoy.
