Russian Style Pickled Herring

Ingredients:

  • 4 herring fillets
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2-3/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup cold water

Directions:

  1. Soak herring for 3 or 4 hours in cold water.
  2. Wash in cold water and cut into cubes.
  3. Prepare a marinade with the remaining ingredients and marinate for 1-2 days.
  4. Drain and serve.
