Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Combine the flour, salt and baking powder.
  2. Cut in shortening as for pie crust.
  3. Combine the egg and vinegar.
  4. Add to the flour mixture.
  5. Add the water gradually until the flour is moistened and holds together like a pie crust.
  6. Chill for an hour or so for easier handling.
  7. Divide dough into 5 balls.
  8. Roll each ball out and, using an 8-inch foil pie tin, cut out circles.
  9. Layer on half of each shell potatoes, onion, sprinkle of salt and pepper, ground meat, potatoes, onion and sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  10. Fold over shell.
  11. Crimp edges securely.
  12. Prick top with fork.
  13. Bake on a greased cookie sheet in a preheated 375 degrees oven for about 60 minutes on bottom rack or until fork inserts easily into pastie and pastie is nicely brown.
