Ingredients:

  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 1 (8 oz) jar prune baby food
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Beat together 3 egg whites with salt.
  2. Add the 6 Tbsp.
  3. Sugar and beat until stiff.
  4. Fold in the prunes and lemon juice.
  5. Place in a casserole dish and place the dish in a pan of water.
  6. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes.
  7. Custard: Scald the milk in a double boiler.
  8. Beat together egg yolks, sugar and vanilla.
  9. Add this egg mixture slowly to the milk.
  10. Continue cooking to thicken.
  11. Serve the prune whip with the custard on top.
