Prize Winning Apple Sour Cream Pecan Pie

Throughtout the years this pie has won prizes in apple pie baking contests. Given to me by a friend, others adapt the recipe a bit to their liking. I added my own twist Long story short: at a recent pie baking contest for my valley region, I won first place! Read more ! Ingredients:
double crust pastry for 9 or 10 inch pie
7 to 8 large pie apples
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbs flour
1 tsp vanilla
pecan topper
1/2 cup crushed or chopped pecans
a bit of sugar and cinnamon to taste
Directions:
1. Into a bottom pastry lined 10 inch pie pan place sliced and peeled apples.
2. Mix together, vanilla, sour cream, sugar, flour and combine well.
3. Pour over apples evenly.
4. Mix together pecans, sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over sour cream mixture.
5. Place on top crust, crimp edges to seal and vent pie in several places.
6. Bake in a 375F oven about one hour or apples tender.
7. Cool to room temperature.
8. Serve room temp or well chilled.
