Peanut Butter Topped Toffee Bars

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Combine butter with brown sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg and beat well.
  3. Blend in vanilla.
  4. Whisk together flour and salt and gradually stir into butter mixture.
  5. Fold in pecans.
  6. Spread evenly into a greased 15x11x2 inch baking pan.
  7. Bake 25-30 minutes or until lightly golden on edges.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately top with chocolate chips.
  9. Allow to stand 2-3 minutes so chips can soften.
  10. Spread and swirl evenly over top of toffee.
  11. Set aside.
  12. Melt peanut butter chips and vegetable shortening in a small pot over low heat.
  13. Stir to blend smoothly.
  14. Drizzle randomly over the top of the chocolate.
  15. Cool thoroughly and cut into squares.
