Old Fashion Sour Cream Twists

Ingredients:

  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 cup lukewarm sour cream
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Soften yeast in sour cream.
  2. Add eggs, shortening, salt and vanilla.
  3. Stir in flour.
  4. Knead and chill two hours.
  5. Mix together cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Roll dough into a rectangle.
  7. Sprinkle with 1/3 of sugar mixture.
  8. And fold into thirds.
  9. Roll dough into rectangle, spinkle with remaining sugar mixture and fold again.
  10. Cut folded dough into 1/4 inch slices.
  11. Roll in granulated sugar, twist and press ends down on baking sheet.
  12. Let rise 1/2 hour and bake at 375 for 12 to 15 minutes.
