Old Fashion Pound Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 5 -6 eggs
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 pinch mace
  • 1 -2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients.
  4. Bake in a greased bundt pan in a preheated 350 degree oven.
  5. Bake for 45 to 60 min (1 hour is best).
  6. Chocolate powder can be added to half of mixture and swirled in to make a marble cake.
