Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 4 egg whites , stiffly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups brown sugar

Directions:

  1. Bottom Layer:.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and beat well. Add flour, baking powder, and vanilla. Spread in shallow pan, or cookie sheet.
  3. Top Layer:.
  4. Combine egg whites, sugar, and walnuts. Spread on top of first mixture and bake in 350 oven for 30 minutes. Cut into small squares when done.
