My Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, vanilla and sour cream.
  3. Combine dry ingredients.
  4. Blend into creamed mixture slowly. The dough will be light and sticky.
  5. Cover and wrap dough and chill overnight.
  6. On lightly floured surface, roll the dough to 1/8th inch.
  7. Cut into desired shapes.
  8. OR work dough into a log and slice to make round cookies.
  9. Place on silpat covered sheet. (you can sprinkle with colored sugar before baking if you don't want to ice them.).
  10. Bake 8-10 minutes until very light brown.
  11. Remove from sheet and place on wire rack to cool.
  12. Decorate as desired.
