Mürbe Teig - Tender Crust for Pies or Torten

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour , sifted
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter

Directions:

  1. Combine flour, salt and sugar.
  2. Cut in butter with two knives or a pastry blender.
  3. Add egg yolk and mix thoroughly.
  4. Press into a pie plate or a spring-form pan to 1/4 thickness.
  5. Fill with fruit filling of your choice.
  6. Bake in a 425F oven for ten minutes; reduce to 350F and bake until fruit is soft.
