Ingredients:

  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 - 2 cups buttermilk - it depends on the weather.

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Put all the dry ingredients in a large bowl and whisk to combine.
  3. Add 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk and stir with a wooden spoon. Add more if needed. Stir just until dough forms a large, damp clump. Do not over mix.
  4. Turn dough out onto a baking sheet covered with a Silpat, parchment paper or a little flour and form a disc approximately 12 round. Score a cross in dough. Dough will be very sticky.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
