Ingredients:

  • 12 slices bread
  • 12 slices cheese
  • 12 slices smoked turkey (or any combination) or 12 slices ham (or any combination) or 12 slices roast beef (or any combination)
  • 1/2 cup carnation evaporated milk (regular, 2%, or fat free)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Spread desired amount of mustard on one slice of bread.
  2. Place one slice of cheese on top of mustard.
  3. Add two slices of pickles and two slices of deli meat.
  4. Top with another slice of cheese and cover with a slice of bread.
  5. Assemble remaining 5 sandwiches. press sandwiches together lightly and trim crusts.
  6. Slice sandwich into 4 triangles or squares.
  7. In a medium bowl, beat evaporated milk, eggs and salt. Dip sandwich bites into egg mixture.
  8. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat; grill sandwich bites until brown on both sides, adding more oil if necessary. Turn down the heat if the pan gets too hot.
  9. TIP: You can serve these as an appetizer or a main course.
  10. For that added touch, garnish each with an easy homemade salsa, made with chopped pickles, red onion, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, and fresh cilantro.
