Ingredients:

  • 250 g marg
  • 2 cups castor sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups self raising flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • lemon ess or zest of lemon
  • syrup :1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Cream marg and sugar
  2. Add eggs,one at a time
  3. Add flour
  4. Add milk
  5. Add ess
  6. Pour into tin
  7. Bake at 180 degrees till skewer comes out clean
  8. Syrup:boil ingred together,til syrupy but not very thick
  9. Prick cake with fork
  10. Pour syrup over
  11. And good scoop of ice cream
