Kenny's Birthday Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup shortening , plus
  • 2 tbsp shortening
  • 4 -5 tbsp cold water
  • 1 -16 oz solid pack pumpkin
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp clove
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk

Directions:

  1. Pie crust directions:.
  2. Measure flour and salt into bowl. Cut in shortening. Sprinkle in water, 1 tablespoons at a time. Mix well. Shape into ball and roll out on flour covered counter. Place in pie plate.
  3. Pie filling directions:.
  4. Heat oven to 425. Mix ingredients in order given. Pour into pie crust. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and continue baking for 35-45 minutes. Serve with lots of whipped cream! Real whipped cream!
