Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan, melt margarine, add celery, onion and carrots.
  2. Saute until celery and onion are translucent.
  3. In a large pot add 2quarts of water, celery mixture and ham bone.
  4. Add Mrs dash and bay leaves.
  5. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 45 minutes or reduced.
  6. Take bay leaf out and ham bone.
  7. Take ham off bone and add leftover ham to water.Remove bay leaves.
  8. Add split peas and add 2 more quarts of water.
  9. Bring to a boil and simmer 1-2 hours.
  10. With a potato masher mash peas while simmering.
