Ingredients:

  • 1 package devil's food cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 cup crisco
  • 1 lb confectioners' sugar , plus
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Combine first five ingredients and blend until you can shpe into ball.
  2. Let stand 20 mins.
  3. Roll dough into 1/2 balls and place 2 apart on a greased cookie sheet.
  4. Flatten each with smooth side of a drinking glass which you have greased and dipped into Nestles Quick powder with each cookie.
  5. Bake at 400 for 8 mins.
  6. Remove and flatten again with back of spatula.
  7. Cool.
  8. Soften gelatin in cold water; place in heatproof cup in pan of hot water and allow to dissolve.
  9. Meanwhile, beat crisco til light and fluffy and add sugar and vanilla.
  10. Beat well; about ten mins.
  11. Cool gelatin and beat into filling.
  12. Use about 1 T of filling to sandwich each two cookies.
