Ingredients:

  1. Dissolve yeast in water. pour milk over shortening,honey and salt; cool to lukewarm. stir in 2 cups flour.add dissolved yeast and oats;mix well.stir in enough additional flour to make soft dough.turn out onto lightly floured surface;knead 8 to 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic. shape to form ball.place in greased large bowl,turning once to coat surface of dough. cover;let rise in warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.punch dough down.cover;let rest 10 minutes. divide dough in half;roll out each half to form 15x9-inch rectangle.roll up starting with narrow end; press together ends and seam to seal. place in 2 9x5-inch loaf pans. brush lightly with melted butter, it desired.cover;let rise about 45 minutes or until nearly double in size. bake in preheated moderate oven (375.F) about 45 minutes. remove from pans; cool on wire rack.
